We welcome all genres of original fiction, poetry, photography, art, and music from Mines students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
We are no longer accepting submissions for the 2017 edition of High Grade. We look forward to seeing your work next year!
Please send art pieces with titles in .jpg or .png format and indicate what medium was used.
If your art pieces need to be photographed, please contact us to make an appointment.
Please send written pieces as Microsoft Word documents (.doc, .docx), not as .pdf files.
All pieces should be submitted in Times New Roman point 12 font, left-justified, unless alternate formatting contributes to the meaning of the piece. Fiction pieces must be double spaced, and poetry pieces must be single spaced. Include your full name in the body of the email, but not in the document itself.
Please submit pre-recorded songs in .mp3 or .wav format. Samples are not allowed: the use of samples in music submissions will lead to the automatic disqualification of the piece.
If you're interested in recording a submission, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to make an appointment in collaboration with the LAIS Music Technology Program. Appointments must be made in advance.
The music technology program is located in the Ford Building, and uses ProTools 2011 and state of the art equipment to record.
Music featured in the journal is posted as web-exclusive content to our site and to SoundCloud.
